Rei ArayaGarlemald's Iron Maiden |
Jin’s sister. She’d been taken by Garlean forces and forced to become part of their ranks–promising her freedom as long as she does her duties. She had once hoped to see her brother again. But, that hope continues to diminish everyday–and she learned to shut her emotions down, in an effort to take back her life.
Once she meets him again for the first time, relief does not fill her–but rage, for the fact he was spared, and she wasn’t–her latent jealousy taking over her. Her goal now becomes one thing–kill Jin Araya, then kill herself.
Jin's Thoughts: Jin had spent most of his early life with her, and held their idle days in the orphanage close.. While they’d occasionally have spats, Jin never removed the space in his heart for Rei.
This would later be tested when Jin discovered Rei had been conscripted into the Garlean Army, and was behind the massacre in the Waking Sands. Once she realized he’d been alive, she made it her goal to kill him, then herself. However, Jin seeks to save her no matter what.

Rivair ArayaEorzea's White Wolf...? |
Jin and Rei’s father. A free-spirited man, perhaps too much for his own good. He is an amazing combatant and an excellent adventurer, having carved his legacy into Eorzea through his efforts against the Garlean Army–or, so it would be, if it weren’t for a certain someone. His existence was effectively erased, whereabouts unknown. Now, it’s up to his children to re-build his legacy, or tear it down.
Jin's Thoughts: He felt nothing but contempt for him for a long time–but after being put in a similar position as he was, Jin cannot help but think about his inadequacies. In comparison to his father, he felt like a shoddy hero. From the brief moments he met Rivair, he could tell he was an honorable man–he just didn’t understand why his honor meant throwing his family away.

MoiraiAzem, The Traveller |
Jin’s progenitor beyond worlds. A shepherd of stories, she travels to collect the fates and experiences of the world–and is hopelessly obsessed with it. Her love for the waking world runs deep, accepting all that is cruel and beautiful about it. Because of this, her deepest wish is to live forever–even if it comes to the point she loses her limbs and tongue, even if she is reduced to a molecule, even if there’s barely anything of her left–she will be happy, as long as she can record this world.
Her studies focus on fate–on the weave of the universe’s story and how to manipulate it. It’s a study most deem useless, but she’d been able to grasp the “truth”. With this “truth”, she weaves the fate of what remains of her past her ‘death’.
Jin Araya became her subject. She’d imbued in him an ‘axis’, something that’d cause the world to revolve around him, to lead every single shard back to him–so he could kill them, and she could take form once again.
Jin's Thoughts: An ineffable, complex being that Jin can’t come to terms with.
